a blog and resources for trans survivors and loved ones

  • Empowering.
  • Healing.
  • Connecting.

When we’re down and blue, music can be helpful for getting energized again. In April, we shared music recommendations from community members for slowing down—moving from high-intensity emotions to calm. But sometimes we need to do the opposite—giving ourselves the gifts of movement, change, and energy to shift to a more “ramped up” emotional state.

During the last session of our three-part workshop series on emotions, we invited folks to share their go-to “ramping up” songs. Uplifting and often fast-paced, these songs helped when feeling down or “stuck.”

Listen to the “Ramping up playlist” on YouTube or Spotify – or find the individual songs below. Let us know: what songs would you add to this list? Leave us a comment on Instagram, Facebook, or Bluesky!
